Kirsten Corbett

Hi! I'm Kirsten (aka Kadie), a 44 year old aspiring web developer from Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is my personal website, and first site in a long time that I have coded from scratch. If you came from the "about" link on my blog, this is a completely different website even though it looks similar and will be coded from scratch by me. I am currently learning to code via freeCodeCamp.org and Developer Roadmaps. Book mark me to see how my site progresses as I learn! I love coding, web development, cozy gaming and living a cozy lifestyle. I am currently doing gig work while teaching myself how to code so that one day I can be free from the retail and call center jobs of the past. I also love to hike, camp, and go geocaching, as well as going to the beach in the summer. I love skiing in the winter, though admittedly I haven't done it in a long time. Hard to when you can barely stand up sometimes.

My husband Eddie and I have 2 cats, Mango and Waffles, who are currently staying with my parents while we get back on our feet and find ourselves an apartment in the city. We moved here a few months ago from a smaller town, Digby, which is about 2.5 hours away. It's a beautiful little town but doesn't have much for jobs so we decided we needed a change and moved up here with my aunt.

I live with a couple of chronic illnesses and therefor working a typical job has not worked out so well for me. We are getting a fresh start in Halifax and so I am doing what I can to help better our situation while also bettering myself. I am hoping that within a year I can maybe at least freelance and supplement my current income so that we can work on paying off debts and get ahead. I am looking forward to the journey ahead as I redefine and change my lifestyle and habbits.
